I grew up on Long Island in an americanized Italian family but we had fantastic cannoli often and fresh mozzarella for our sandwiches and pasta. so glad to find someone who appreciates sicily - all of its regions - as much as I do… it is the REAL Italy, and I agree with you that it has its own REAL language, and not a dialect to be disparaged! My first trip there over 20 years ago was with Durgin who did a fine job.. i believe that I know some of the contacts that they work with in Taormina, where I know many people and learned to speak Italian. Very interested in your olive oil work.. do you have have tastings of Sicilian oils? My cousins produce a great oil from Madonie Range…
Where is the best cannoli to be found in this area, Al?
Grazie,
Paolo
